Monorean Pro Guide
The advanced version of the Monorean earpieces.
The control box
The sophisticated Switchboard ensures that every last detail heard through the invisible earpiece is perfect on the day of your exam, guaranteeing your success.
Bluetooth
The control unit is Bluetooth® 5.0 certified, allowing it to be connected to a smartphone, MP3 player, Walkie-Talkie, or any other Bluetooth device. Your Bluetooth device and the control unit may be separated by up to 10 meters.
NOTE: During the pairing, if a password is requested, it’d be 0000
For safety, the control unit always reserves a percentage of power that is exclusively dedicated to the Bluetooth link, so that when the device runs out of battery, it maintains the connection, avoiding the unexpected switch to “speaker” mode that occurs in many mobile phones when the Bluetooth connection is lost.
IMPORTANT: No other phone will be able to find the control unit on its list of Bluetooth devices within range once it has been paired with your mobile phone via Bluetooth.
Power supply and battery
The electronic device or control unit is powered by an internal lithium polymer rechargeable battery. The Monorean Pro control unit can be charged using the UBS cable provided. Remember that you can connect the USB cable to either a USB port on your computer or a USB wall charger plugged into a wall socket.
The battery indicator ( ) will be red indicating: charging. It’ll be fully charged once the indicator turns green.
The battery can last for 6 hours in a continuous conversation.
Battery details
Monorean Pro will smartly manage the battery life. When you hear from the Monorean earpiece, it will use the most energy; therefore, the battery life will be determined by your partner’s silent periods on the other end of the line. Similarly, if you use Monorean Pro in MP3 mode, the energy drain will be significantly reduced once you stop the audio by pressing the pause MP3 pushbutton.
The following table provides an estimate of battery life based on the type of usage:
Type of use of the Monorean Pro | Battery life |
---|---|
Your partner never stops talking, at maximum volume | 6 hours |
Your partner never stops talking, at saturated volume (*) | 5 hours |
On a call, not you nor your partner talk | 19 hours |
On a call, you talk but your partner stays quiet | 20 hours |
On a call, your partner talks 50% of the time (50% silent) | 15 hours |
Waiting for a call or stand by | 19 hours |
* Depending on the audio type, when the volume is set to the maximum, you may hear a slightly blurry or fuzzy sound that we’ll refer to as saturated sound. As a result, the sound at the volume right before experiencing this slight fuzziness is considered the maximum volume. It’s best to turn down the volume until the sound is crystal clear if you hear a saturated sound. Remember that switching from saturated to maximum sound has no effect on the perceived sound volume, but it does have an impact on the battery life.
There is no difference in perceived volume between saturated and maximum sound, but it does affect battery consumption.
